People often inquire about my transition from being a Chef to a skincare formulator.

After dedicating more than two decades to the culinary world, working as a Research Chef, and recognizing the potency inherent in plants, I made the conscious choice to depart from my role in the corporate realm. This decision was driven by a desire to embrace a holistic lifestyle.

Facing some health challenges of my own, I embarked on a journey of healing and self-discovery, fostering a newfound passion to create something reflective of my values. Over the years, I systematically eliminated chemicals from my home and diet, a process that significantly contributed to my recovery. These hidden chemicals lurk in everyday items like food, personal care products, makeup, candles, and cleaning supplies. Now, having removed them, I experience heightened energy, balance, and overall well-being. My commitment to a clean lifestyle naturally led me to craft these products myself.

The inception of the Bocanna Skin line marked a turning point for me as I delved into the business. The foundation of our products lies in edible plants, with Texas Olive Oil as a cornerstone—a splendid culinary oil in its own right. Growing hemp for the line was a deliberate choice, driven by my belief in the medicinal benefits of this plant, substantiated by a growing body of research. I also cultivate various botanicals for the line and collaborate closely with other farm partners to source the finest ingredients. Plants form the essence of our business, and we steadfastly believe in regenerative, no-till farming methods.

My dedication revolves around formulating skincare products that are both clean and genuine, mirroring the quality standards I've acquired throughout my professional journey. Drawing on my expertise in food science and product development, my commitment is to deliver thoroughly researched and honest products—ones that I am proud to use in my own home and deeply honored for you to incorporate into yours.
